The ISM is overseen by thirteen Executive Committee, i.e., Shura, Members. Board
members are elected to three year terms by members of the ISM. Elections are staggered, so that each year, only
four or five Board members will be up for election. Board members are a reflection of the very diverse Muslim
community in Milwaukee, and the Board includes individuals of various ethnicities, genders, races, ages and
occupations.
The ISM is also overseen by a Board of Trustees whose purpose is to preserve the mission and assets of the ISM.
Members of the Board of Trustees, who are required to have long standing domicile in Southeastern Wisconsin, are
elected by ISM members to permanent positions.
The operations of the ISM are overseen by a Chief Executive Officer. Other staff members include the Religious
Director and the Imam.
